Charlie is our lead Olympic weightlifting coach, a competitive international athlete from Cheltenham, and the founder of Stone Strength Weightlifting. With a background in Strength & Conditioning (BSc Hons, University of Gloucestershire), Charlie has spent more than a decade coaching athletes of all levels — from beginners to national champions.
As a lifter, he’s achieved success on both national and international platforms, including gold at the 2024 English Senior Championships and gold at the 2024 Masters World Championships in Finland. His best competition lifts include a 140 kg snatch and a 170 kg clean & jerk.
Charlie’s coaching style blends technical precision with an evidence-based, athlete-centred approach. He’s passionate about building strong, confident lifters who understand the “why” behind their training and enjoy the process as much as the progress.
